Kranjcar happy at Pompey

Portsmouth's Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar has dismissed rumours of an imminent departure from Fratton Park.

The 22-year-old playmaker has struggled to make his mark with Pompey since his £3.5million arrival from Hajduk Split, but Kranjcar is determined to stay put and prove his worth.

He told The News: "Clubs have shown interest but I'm happy here. When they decide to sell me, if they ever want to sell me, it's up to them.

"I'm 22 years old, I have time to be patient. Of course everyone wants to play every game, but I'm pretty satisfied how I'm doing up to now.

"Obviously I want to step up a gear and maybe play even better football, but I think I've got time for that.

"I'm happy. I know I can play better and I believe it's going to get much better. But for this moment I'm here and that pleases me."
