Kidd joins Pompey staff

Portsmouth have revealed Brian Kidd has joined the club to assist caretaker manager Paul Hart.[LNB] The 59-year-old, who worked alongside Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United for many years, will help out with the coaching of the side while a search is made for a permanent manager.[LNB]Kidd also had a stint as the assistant manager of England while Sven Goran Eriksson was at the helm but was forced to resign from the role after being diagnosed with cancer.[LNB]He has recently worked as an assistant to Neil Warnock and Bryan Robson at Sheffield United.[LNB]"Brian's a fantastic coach with a great track record," caretaker boss Paul Hart told Portsmouth's official website.[LNB]"We've known each other for an awfully long time and I'm delighted he's coming here to assist me."[LNB]Kidd's role will be reviewed when Portsmouth find a permanent successor to Tony Adams.[LNB]
