Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu insists there is "no problem" with his new contract and he anticipates putting pen to paper in the coming days.
The Nigeria striker was reportedly unhappy with the 12-month offer on the table at Fratton Park with stories suggesting he felt he deserved a two-year contract following his exploits with the south coast club.
The 31-year-old scored the winning goal in May's FA Cup Final success which secured Pompey a first-ever season in Europe.
But Kanu insists there is no problem with his new deal and has suggested he is ready to pledge his future to Harry Redknapp's side for another season before he returns for pre-season training.
"There is no problem with the contract," he is quoted as saying.
"There are just some little details that we need to discuss about. But I will sign the contract.
"I want to stay with Portsmouth. Maybe I will even sign it in Nigeria."
