Kanu admits Pompey doubt
20 Apr 2009 - 10:02:53
Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu has revealed he is unsure of his Fratton Park future beyond the end of the season.
Kanu, 32, scored the winner in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers with his first Premier League goal of the season.
The Nigerian has started just two leagues games all season and is out of contract at the south coast club at the end of the campaign.
"I don't know what my future is," he said. "It is important I play in as many games as possible because I love Portsmouth and I want to play for them.
"Maybe this was a little reminder to the manager, but we have a good squad so it is a case of just waiting for my chance."
Meanwhile, Kanu is hoping his impact as a substitute at the weekend will earn him a rare start when Pompey travel to Manchester United on Wednesday night.
He added: "I won a title with Arsenal at Old Trafford and we won there in the FA Cup last season.
"So is it my lucky ground? Maybe we shall find out on Wednesday. I just hope I get the chance to play."
