Kanu seeks new Pompey deal

Portsmouth striker Kanu is hoping to win a new deal to extend his stay at Fratton Park. Kanu's current contract expires in the summer and all talks over new deals have been put off until the end of the season. The Nigerian, who came off the bench to score a vital winner in last weekend's victory over Bolton, believes he still has a lot to offer Portsmouth despite his lack of action this term. "I love Portsmouth and want to keep playing for them - next year as well," said Kanu. "I've always said that if you give me the chance I will do a good job for the team. "Although the most important thing for me is that we win matches, it is difficult for me when I have not been playing much and have to rely on coming on in the last few minutes." Hart has confirmed all contract talks will be delayed until the club secure their Premier League staus. The Pompey caretaker boss admits he is in the dark regarding new contracts as he is unsure over his own position at Fratton Park. "All contracts will be discussed at the appropriate time but that is not now," said Hart. "I don't even know if I will be involved. "I've three years on my contract in the role but only until the end of the season as first-team manager and that is as far as I am looking."
