Kanu saga finally set to end

Portsmouth are close to resolving their contract wrangle with Kanu - paving the way for the Nigerian to play against Cardiff on Saturday.[LNB] Former Arsenal striker Kanu has yet to make an appearance for Pompey this season due to the dispute, which has lasted all summer.[LNB]His availability at the weekend would be a huge boost to manager Steve Cotterill, who has been forced to field the cash-strapped club's youngsters while being unable to fill his substitutes' bench.[LNB]Administrator Andrew Andronikou told The News: "We are hopeful of announcing something about Kanu.[LNB]"All things being equal, we could have him registered and playing on Saturday.[LNB]"The manager and the player get on very well, it has just been a case of solving the contract issue."
