Kanu open to new Pompey deal

wankwo Kanu is looking forward to the possibility of staying with relegated Portsmouth despite the financial troubles experienced by the club.[LNB] The player's legal representative Samuel Okoronkwo says his client is currently mulling over an offer from Pompey.[LNB]"The administrator [Andrew Andrinikou] has offered Kanu a new contract which we are in receipt of and negotiating," Okoronkwo told Portsmouth Today.[LNB]"He's played at the highest level, but he's open-minded about playing in a lower division."[LNB]Kanu, who joined Portsmouth in 2006 and scored the winning goal in the FA Cup Final in 2008, is currently on World Cup duty with Nigeria.[LNB]Money is in short supply at the Coca-Cola Championship club and Andrinokou has publicly talked about capping wages at £10,000 a week.[LNB]"Money has never driven Kanu. It's the love of the game," said Okoronkwo.[LNB]"We understand what the administrator is trying to achieve and Kanu is supportive.[LNB]"If we can reach an agreement with the administrator he'd be willing to stay on."
