Johnson flattered by interest
12 Jun 2009 - 08:24:23
Portsmouth defender Glen Johnson has revealed he is flattered to be linked with several leading Premier League clubs.
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and former club Chelsea are all rumoured to be interesting in signing the right-back.
The 24-year-old defender has spent three seasons at Fratton Park, during which time he has become a regular in Fabio Capello's England squads.
Johnson caught the eye with four assists during the midweek 6-0 World Cup qualifying rout of Andorra and has admitted he is flattered by reported interest from leading clubs.
"It's fantastic to be linked with the clubs I have been - but I've not thought about moving," he said.
Johnson started his career at West Ham United before sealing a £6million move to Chelsea in 2003.
He struggled to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge and his career has been revitalised by a move to Pompey.
The full-back joined the south coast club on a season-long loan before sealing a permanent move in 2007.
