Johnson indebted to Harry

Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson admits he will always be grateful to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp for saving his career. Redknapp signed Johnson for Portsmouth from Chelsea's substitutes' bench for just £4million two years ago. Johnson flourished at Pompey and is now England's first-choice right-back and has also secured a £18m move to Liverpool. The Reds go head-to-head with Spurs on Sunday, but that has not stopped Johnson thanking Redknapp for having faith in his ability. "It's fair to say that Harry rescued my career," he told the News of the World. "I wasn't getting in the team at Chelsea. I asked to leave because I needed to play football regularly again. "Harry gave me a chance at Portsmouth when it was going wrong for me. He was the one that came to the table. "He gave me an opportunity to rebuild my career and reputation at Portsmouth and I will always owe him something for the faith he showed in me."
