Portsmouth's England goalkeeper David James has signed a contract extension to keep him at Fratton Park until the summer of 2010.
The 37-year-old has been in outstanding form since moving to the South Coast in the summer of 2006 and has regained his place in the national team as a result.
James has also helped Pompey reach the FA Cup semi-finals this season, as well as helping the club challenge for a European place via the Premier League.
He told the club's official website: "It's been a tremendous week and I'm delighted to get the opportunity to sign a new contract.
"I'm enjoying being at Pompey, it's a fantastic environment. I never envisaged the club being in this position when I joined."
James has made 74 appearances to date for Pompey, having earlier enjoyed spells with Manchester City, West ham United, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Watford.
He has won 36 England caps and started in the recent 2-1 friendly win over Switzerland at Wembley, a game which marked the beginning of Fabio Capello's reign as national team boss.
