Portsmouth goalkeeper David James has expressed his desire to move into management when he finally brings to an end his playing days.[LNB] James is out of contract in the summer and he waived the right to an automatic extension to help Portsmouth in their current predicament.[LNB]The much-travelled shot-stopper has already taken his level two coaching badges, and would one day like to try his hand at taking charge of team affairs.[LNB]James said: "From what I have experienced as a player, I believe the managerial job could be done very differently, and I would like to have that opportunity.[LNB]"I think there are ways and means of getting the best out of players which can be done at any level, and I would like the opportunity to see if my theory works."[LNB]A manager that has had more effect on James than most others is Harry Redknapp and the 39-year-old sees the Spurs chief's man-management as his greatest strength.[LNB]"Harry is arguably the best man-manager I have ever worked under," James said.[LNB]"You can go through Spurs' side for an analysis how strong they are in all departments.[LNB]"But if it was simply a case of analysing a side before the match and deciding who was going to be the winner, then we probably would not need to turn up.[LNB]"As much as you know how good these players are and know how much they can and can't do, they are very difficult to stop.[LNB]"It is going to be a tough game, but the reality in football is that anything can happen."
