Portsmouth keeper David James admits he is looking forward to using a different approach when he goes into management once he finishes playing.[LNB] The experienced 39-year-old England international is out of contract in the summer and has waived the right to an automatic extension on his current deal because of the club's perilous financial situation.[LNB]He expects to be sitting in the dugout once he decides to finally retire, and admits he has some interesting ideas he wants to bring to the table.[LNB]He said: "From what I have experienced as a player, I believe the managerial job could be done very differently, and I would like to have that opportunity.[LNB]"I think there are ways and means of getting the best out of players which can be done at any level, and I would like the opportunity to see if my theory works."[LNB]Portsmouth take on Tottenham in the FA Cup on Sunday, as Spurs boss Harry Redknapp faces his former club at Wembley.[LNB]James is looking forward to the game, and thinks Redknapp is one of the best managers he has ever worked with.[LNB]"Harry is arguably the best man-manager I have ever worked under," he added.[LNB]"You can go through Spurs' side for an analysis of how strong they are in all departments.[LNB]"But if it was simply a case of analysing a side before the match and deciding who was going to be the winner, then we probably would not need to turn up.[LNB]"As much as you know how good these players are and know how much they can and can't do, they are very difficult to stop.[LNB]"It is going to be a tough game, but the reality in football is that anything can happen."
