Portsmouth captain Dejan Stefanovic could be set for a spell on the sidelines after limping out of Saturday's victory against Wigan Athletic with a foot injury.
There are fears that the 31-year-old has broken a toe.
However, upbeat Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is unconcerned, particularly considering the form of Linvoy Primus.
"It will be a blow if Dejan has to miss some games but Linvoy has been fantastic again," said Redknapp.
"He's revelling in playing alongside Sol (Campbell).
"We've got a great bunch of players and a great bunch of lads here. There's not a bad apple among them. And there are others to come in.
"I was worried one or two of the lads would struggle to find their fitness but they have been strong. The squad is good, but it going to get stronger.
"Manuel Fernandes is a quick aggressive player, Niko Kranjcar is a real footballer, Roudolphe Douala is full of pace and we all know what Andrew Cole can do.
"It's like the last time I was here. I've got a good feeling about this group."
