I was fighting for German title, now Hart ignores me, blasts Pompey's Gekas

Theofanis Gekas has launched a stinging attack on Portsmouth, demanding more respect and an explanation why he has yet to play for the club. The established Greece international was signed by former Pompey manager Tony Adams from Bayer Leverkusen in the January transfer window but has yet to play for the Barclays Premier League club. Gekas, who had showdown talks with interim manager Paul Hart earlier this week, has not even been included in recent Portsmouth squads and believes his record means he should not have to prove himself in the reserves. He said: 'I don't deserve such treatment. I think my c.v is worthy of respect. Through my efforts on the field in the past year, I've shown people what I'm capable of. I deserve more respect. 'I didn't walk away from Leverkusen, a club going for the German championship, to come over here, at a club fighting against relegation and being seated in the stands. 'I didn't come here just to train with the rest of the team. I don't care if there's a new manager, I only know Mr Hart keeps ignoring me without even giving me a single, a simple, explanation. 'He should give me a chance first and then, if I fail, he can judge me.'
