Hreidarsson tempted by Gers

Hermann Hreidarsson has confirmed he would be interested in joining Rangers this summer. The Icelandic defender is out of contract at Fratton Park and it is unclear whether he will remain with the club. He is waiting to see who will be named as Portsmouth's permanent manager following the takeover by Sulaiman Al-Fahim. Hreidarsson's agent Olafur Gardarsson stated last month that his player would consider a switch to Ibrox during the transfer window. The 34-year-old has now admitted that such a move does appeal to him, although Rangers have yet to lodge a firm bid. "I would be interested but as yet nothing's been offered - at least nothing concrete," Hreidarsson told the News of the World. "I'm still waiting on Portsmouth to appoint a new manager. I will have a word with him and see what he's got to say. But I would look upon the Scottish League as a good, new challenge for me. "Rangers would be a good club for any player to move to, especially when they have the Champions League coming up next season."
