Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson claims he did not want to move away from Fratton Park during the winter transfer window.[LNB] The Iceland international made no secret of his desire to play first-team football and he stated that he 'expected'[LNB]to have found a new employer before the transfer window closed on 2nd February.[LNB]However, a switch away from the South Coast did not materialise and Hreidarsson has now played, and scored, in Pompey's last two games, the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool which ended Tony Adams' tenure and the weekend win over Manchester City.[LNB]And the 34-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, is now happy with the Premier League strugglers and insists that if he had left the club at the start of the year it would not have been his ideal situation.[LNB]"If I got a chance to play here then I was going to take it," he told the Pompey's official website.[LNB]"There is nothing you can do when you're not playing but I'm enjoying it now I'm back in the side.[LNB]"I didn't want to leave in January but I wanted to play football. There were a few agents linking me with a move away but the perfect solution was to stay here and play football.[LNB]"Pompey is a nice family club and the fans are unbelievable. There is always a great atmosphere and the Premier League is the place to be."[LNB]
