Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson is closing in on a return to action with the Premier League strugglers. The versatile veteran has not featured this season due to a tendon problem but is expected to be back in full training by the end of the week. With Paul Hart's side marooned at the foot of the table with just one win from their opening nine games, Hreidarsson's forthcoming availability will provide a boost to the Fratton Park squad. "Hermann just wants to play and to train and he's almost there," head physio Gary Sadler told the club's official website. "He's about 95 per cent there and could possibly be back in full training by the end of the week." Pompey face Hull City at the weekend looking to climb off the bottom of the table, with striker Aruna Dindane looking to atone for his astonishing miss against Tottenham and repay the fans for their loyalty. "The supporters are fantastic," he said. "Everything I do is for them, they feed you. Every player here does the best job they can for the club and for the supporters. "I saw on Saturday that if I'm finding it difficult, then the supporters will give me energy and that is very important. "This weekend's game is very important. We have played nine games and won only once, so we don't have time to wait to win another game. "Hull is very important, as is Wigan. Getting the maximum points is vital and I will do my best to do that."
