Hermann desperate for answers
02 Feb 2010 - 11:59:14
Defender Hermann Hreidarsson has urged the Portsmouth owners to come clean about the state of the club's finances.
Hreidarsson has spoken out after the players and staff at the Premier League's bottom club were not paid their monthly wages as scheduled for the fourth time this season.
Cash-strapped Pompey raised £8million from the transfer deadline day sales of Younes Kaboul to Tottenham and Asmir Begovic to Stoke City, but Hreidarsson is concerned at the latest twist to a turbulent season off the pitch at Fratton Park.
"They should come clean and let us know exactly what is going on," he claimed.
"This is the fourth time it has happened this season. It seems to be a never-ending story at the moment.
"The players and staff are working hard for this club, but we don't know what is happening from the people who are running it.
"It is just amazing that we have not been paid and they have not been in touch with us.
"I am sure the players will be all right, but it is the staff not being paid that is a big concern. They maybe have mortgages to pay, but do not have their wages."
