SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON has never been afraid of taking a job if his amazing wage  demands are met but a move to Portsmouth [LNB]would show how far he has fallen. The former Roma, Benfica, Sampdoria, Lazio, England and Manchester City [LNB]manager is currently in charge of Mexico, and struggling.Another payoff, to add to those handsome sums he received from his former  employers based in England, would no doubt be a most satisfactory way to get him out of a hole.[LNB] [LNB]Wrong choice: Sven Goran Eriksson is not the man to revive Pompey[LNB]But is he really the right sort of manager for a club fighting against relegation with the transfer window closed? [LNB]   More from Hatchet Man... HATCHET MAN: The FA Cup is becoming lost in the shambles surrounding the competition[LNB]10/02/09 HATCHET MAN: Desperate times call for drastic changes at Wenger's Arsenal[LNB]10/02/09 HATCHET MAN: The vote of confidence means what it has always counted for...absolutely nothing[LNB]10/02/09 HATCHET MAN: Bennett's card is marked but his allegations are really no surprise[LNB]09/02/09 HATCHET MAN: James is right - how will Hart fulfil his potential now that Given has arrived at City?[LNB]09/02/09 HATCHET MAN: The strife of Ryan sums up Liverpool's lack of strength in depth[LNB]09/02/09 HATCHET MAN: Sorry isn't good enough...and neither is Eboue if he doesn't cut out the indiscipline[LNB]09/02/09 HATCHET MAN: Platini's latest swipe at the Premier League is utter nonsense[LNB]06/02/09 VIEW FULL ARCHIVE[LNB]  At Eriksson's last two clubs he had plenty of money to spend and he is accustomed to the expectation of silverware not survival.[LNB]He may have failed England but it is not that long ago that the Swede could take his pick of job offers.[LNB]Today he will probably be grateful a club in danger of relegation who have just sold their best players and are looking for a new owner are flashing their eyelids at him.[LNB] [LNB]
