Hart wins Hermann's backing
19 Feb 2009 - 12:55:24
Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson has urged the club to offer Paul Hart and Brian Kidd permanent roles at Fratton Park.
The duo, who are currently in charge of Pompey on a temporary basis following Tony Adams' departure earlier this month, guided the club to a 2-0 victory against Manchester City on Saturday.
Hreidarsson has been impressed by both men, telling the Portsmouth News: "The win against City was massive for us. It'll give us the confidence we need for the coming weeks.
"We stuck to the game-plan and it worked, so first impressions of them have been very good. I'd like to see them here on a permanent basis, absolutely, without a doubt.
"They've come in and it's been very fast, very enjoyable. People are working hard and the win makes a lot of difference as well. I think the squad would all be happy with that.
"Paul Hart has had one-on-one talks with everyone and been about and around the game for a long time. I think he's got a lot of respect there.
"I grew up as a Manchester United fan so I also know about Brian Kidd. According to Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and the rest of them, he was an inspiration.
"Having worked with him myself now, you can see why they've gone such a long way. He's got bundles of knowledge about the game. I really admire him and so it's a great catch for us I think.
"They've given us something brand new.
"Tony Adams was obviously here with Harry (Redknapp) and kept things similar, but sometimes it's good to freshen up and it's worked a treat to be fair since they've come in."
