Hart waits on Kranjcar

Portsmouth manager Paul Hart fears Niko Kranjcar could miss Monday's crunch Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

The Croatia international is struggling with the ankle injury he sustained in the weekend win against Bolton and it forced him to miss the 2-0 defeat at Manchester United.

David Nugent limped out of the Old Trafford clash with a dead leg following a challenge from Nemanja Vidic while Younes Kaboul continues to struggle with a thigh problem.

"Nugent got a dead leg so we'll assess him and, hopefully, as we don't play again until Monday, he may have a bit of a chance to get through that," said the Pompey boss.

"Kranjcar's improving, but we'll have to see. It's a little bit further down the line on that one. He took a nasty one. Younes is improving, so we're hopeful."

Meanwhile, Hart is convinced United will go on to win their third successive Premier League title, adding: "I can't see anything to stop them becoming champions.

"They're an extremely good side and the result at Anfield on Tuesday was a major boost for them."
