Hart choice delights Distin
05 Mar 2009 - 12:58:59
Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin believes the club were right to hand Paul Hart the managerial job at Fratton Park until the end of the season.
Hart will remain in caretaker charge of Pompey for the last 11 weeks of the campaign after guiding the club to four points from three matches since replacing Tony Adams in the hot-seat.
Former Manchester City star Distin told the Portsmouth News: "It is a positive move and a good decision because it would have been silly to change it again.
"That would have left us with four or five managers for the season and that is not good for the team.
"Paul and Brian (Kidd) have come in and done a great job. We are a bit more organised, but I think we had a bit of a mental problem as much as anything because the players and the team were the same.
"So we all feel responsible for what happened to Tony and maybe we have a point to prove.
"If we can keep playing the way we have in the last three games, I see no reason why we can't get out of this situation."
