Hart - We're hard to beat

18 April 2009 18:41
Portsmouth manager Paul Hart has praised the resilience of his side after they secured a 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Bolton. The Fratton Park outfit dominated the contest from start to finish, but had to wait until the 78th minute to finally make a breakthrough thanks to a Kanu strike. Victory takes Portsmouth six points clear of the relegation places and, perhaps most importantly, the win should serve to enhance their formidable reputation under Hart. "We were desperate for it. It takes us to five unbeaten and we've lost one in eight," the 55-year-old told Sky Sports. "We're hard to beat. I thought today, especially in the first half, we played some terrific football and we were unlucky not to go in three or four up." Despite the win, Portsmouth are by no means safe and with games against Manchester United and Arsenal as well as relegation rivals Newcastle, Blackburn and Sunderland on the horizon, Hart knows that the run-in will push his side to their limits. He added: "It's a fight and we've got three points which makes it a little bit better, but it's not finished. We've got to go to places like Manchester United and do a job."
