Hart - We just need a goal

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart hailed the spirit of his side after their stalemate with Hull, believing they just need to score. The visitors had the better of the chances in the game, with Aruna Dindane's shot in the second period well saved by Boaz Myhill before his effort from the rebound hit team-mate Younes Kaboul. Soon afterwards, Kevin-Prince Boateng's cross from the left found Hassan Yebda at the far post but Myhill again pulled off a fine reaction save. The draw keeps Pompey four points from safety at the bottom of the table, but Hart was pleased with the spirit of his side. He told Sky Sports: "I think we haven't played as well as we can do today, it's probably the worst we've played in a month but we still created chances and we need to stick one in, it's quite obvious. "But when you consider - I don't really talk about luck, I think you generate your own fortune - but Dindane has a shot and it hits Kaboul and it's on the way in but that's what it's like at the moment. "But there's a great spirit, they're working tremendously hard and whilst you've got that we think we've got a chance." He added: "They're pretty strong mentally and we're an attacking side which is unusual being faced with the challenge of getting off the bottom - we're still attacking, we're still trying to score goals. "Our defenders were magnificent today, our goalie's not had a shot to save, he's made two great punches. "We looked secure, so it's just a goal we need."
