Hart - We have to take chances

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart has called on his players to start taking their chances after a deflected Bobby Zamora goal saw them lose their opening match 1-0 to Fulham. Pompey arguably had the better of the game at Fratton Park but, despite having more chances, they were unable to test Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. The only goal of the match came in the 13th minute when a speculative Clint Dempsey effort was inadvertently redirected by Zamora and Hart admits it was a particularly frustrating way to lose the game. "It was a shot from one of their players, hit one of their players, and took a massive deflection," he told Sky Sports. "It's a tough pill to swallow but we have to do that." He added: "I think overall I was quite pleased with the performance. "I think you may question our finishing - we created a number of chances and have not troubled the keeper. "Other than that, they've had two or three chances, which haven't really troubled us. "The deflection in the first half was cruel luck. "We've just got to get our shooting boots on I think."
