Hart urges Pompey decision

Paul Hart believes it would be good for Portsmouth's long-term future if they made a decision on their next permanent manager in the near future. The former Nottingham Forest boss is currently in charge at Fratton Park on a caretaker basis following Tony Adams' dismissal less than four months into a long-term contract. With all the planning that top-flight managers need to carry out, Hart, who is preparing to take on Chelsea on Tuesday, believes it would be beneficial for Adams' successor to be named. Hart is enjoying his time at the helm of the South Coast club and taking each game at a time, but admits he would be willing to accept the job on a permanent basis. "I just think that for the good of the club and the players, at some point - because there's a lot of planning to be done - that a decision has to be made," he said. "Not by me, I'm just concentrating on one game at a time. "[If I was offered the job] then we'll have to sit down and have a chat, a long chat, and see where that gets to."
