Portsmouth face a nervous wait over the fitness of Jermaine Pennant after the winger sustained a calf injury last weekend. Pennant was replaced 36 minutes into Pompey's 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough after sustaining the problem and is now rated as doubtful for Saturday's clash against Everton. The 26-year-old has impressed since arriving at Fratton Park on loan from Liverpool in January, and interim boss Paul Hart is hopeful the injury is not serious. He told The News: "Jermaine looks like he's got a bit of a calf strain. "He felt something pop in his calf and we're just hoping we got it in time and it's not too serious. "I don't know how he did it. He didn't say it was a kick. It's more of a strain than a pull. "I'm not sure about the Everton game yet. We'll have to look at that in the next 24 hours and just see how it mends."
