Hart refuses to panic

Portsmouth manager Paul Hart is confident there are goals in his side ahead of their Premier League clash with Birmingham at St Andrews on Wednesday. The south coast team went down 1-0 to Fulham at Fratton Park on the opening day of the season and despite throwing on strikers Kanu and David Nugent in the latter stages, Pompey struggled to find the cutting edge needed to make the final breakthrough. Goals have been hard to come by since Pompey sold England hitman Jermaine Defoe to Tottenham in January and his strike partner Peter Crouch followed him over the summer. The club have also struggled to sign reinforcements as Sulaiman al-Fahim's takeover deal with current owner Alexandre Gaydamak remains incomplete. But Hart has faith in his charges to start finding the net. He said: "I thought we played okay against Fulham and I thought there were a lot of positives to be taken. The criticism that could be levelled at us is that we didn't hit the target from 15 attempts. "That's a concern because I thought we got in positions for chances and half chances and didn't finish them off. You have to look on the positive side and say that we got there and created things. I think we have people who can score goals."
