Hart hopes for duo return

Portsmouth manager Paul Hart is hoping David James and Tal Ben-Haim will return for the game against Everton. The duo were rested for the 3-1 Carling Cup victory over Carlisle United on Tuesday because of niggling injuries, but Hart insists they will be ready for Saturday's game at Fratton Park. James and Ben-Haim were two of seven changes from the team that lost to Aston Villa at the weekend, and despite an early scare, Hart was happy with the performance. "Ben-Haim had a sore calf so didn't travel, I would think he'll be fine for Everton," he told The News. "We gave David time out, too. He is very important to us and we want to make sure he's there to play also. "I was delighted with the players that came in, though. It's not easy when you don't play week in, week out and then you have to come to get a result." Carlisle defender Ian Harte opened the scoring at Brunton Park from the penalty spot in the opening minutes, but goals from Aruna Dindane, Danny Webber and Anthony Vanden Borre sealed the win. Defender Younes Kaboul hopes it is the result that can turn Pompey's poor start to the season around. "We needed the win and got it, despite not having a good start," he said. "It's good for confidence and we had a good team in front of us. That is the most important thing because that will help us in the Premier League. "Now we need a good game against Everton - and this gives the confidence for this."
