Hart hails Boateng

Portsmouth manager Paul Hart insists he has no regrets regarding the signing of Kevin Prince Boateng after being warned about the midfielder. Pompey ignored advice to the contrary and paid Spurs £4million for the 22-year-old in August after he had failed to settle at White Hart Lane. Tottenham had loaned Boateng to Borussia Dortmund, having been unimpressed by his attitude, but Hart has no such complaints. Despite Pompey's severe struggles this season, the Fratton Park boss has piled praise on his summer signing. He said in the Daily Mirror: "Boateng can be whatever he wants. I've been absolutely delighted with that boy and I love his attitude. "He's a lovely lad - contrary to every picture painted to me - and I've tried to build the team into a shape which suits his performances because I want him to stay on the pitch. "He's been booted from pillar to post in the last three games but has never reacted and turned in quality performances. "He heads it, he tackles, he runs, he's got great ability. He's come straight in, no questions, no baggage - just bang. "What he's needed is a bit of faith shown in him."
