Hart break could cost Pompey if new regime opt for new Fratton Park boss

Portsmouth could present themselves with a major managerial headache if prospective owner Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim wants to make a new appointment - because only last week they agreed the terms of a new two-year deal with Paul Hart. Having taken over the reins from the sacked Tony Adams in February, Hart's reward for keeping the club in the Barclays Premier League was the offer of a permanent deal to be the club's manager. But a week on and Al Fahim, who hopes to complete the takeover of the club once due diligence has been completed, is already being linked with a move for either Sven Goran Eriksson or Avram Grant. Sportsmail understands that before leaving for a holiday with his wife, Hart said 'yes' to the terms of a new contract in talks with Fratton Park executive chairman Peter Storrie. That being the case, Al Fahim would be faced with having to pay a seven-figure compensation settlement if he does, indeed, want to start by replacing Hart as boss.
