Harry warning for Kanu
06 Jul 2007 - 13:57:39
Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu has been warned that the offer of a new contract could be withdrawn, unless he pledges his future to the Fratton Park club.
The 30-year-old Nigerian is still weighing up his options, but Pompey are now being linked with moves for Preston North End's David Nugent and Rennes frontman John Utaka.
Manager Harry Redknapp warned: "If I get two strikers in, suddenly things look different. Suddenly he's got to make his mind up.
"So if Kanu doesn't take the offer in the next week or so, it might not be there. That's the problem for him."
Former Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion forward Kanu scored 12 goals in his first season at Fratton Park, but netted just once in his final 14 games of the campaign.
