Portsmouth striker Nwankwo Kanu says that a major factor behind his move to Fratton Park was the presence of manager Harry Redknapp at the South Coast club.
The former Arsenal and West Brom forward was on the wanted list of several clubs across Europe during the summer, before opting to join Pompey, where he has netted four goals in five games.
Kanu told BBC Sport: "I had offers from Hamburg and from Spain, but could see Portsmouth would do well and I wanted to be part of it.
"I had other clubs interested, so it was up to me to make the decision where to go, then suddenly I had Harry knocking at the door.
"Everyone knows him and everyone wants to play for him. I chose to play for Harry because I had heard so much from other people about him."
