Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has set his sights on a number of further deals after completing the signing of former Manchester City skipper Sylvain Distin.
Redknapp is keen to bolster his squad in the hope of sealing European qualification next term, with defenders Titus Bramble and Hermann Hreidarsson, midfielder Sulley Muntari and striker Mark Viduka on the Pompey wish-list.
Redknapp told the club's official website: "Titus is still a young player with plenty of potential and we will wait and see. He could be another outstanding free transfer.
"Hermann is a player I like very much. West Ham, I heard, bid £2million for him not long ago and he's another one to watch out for.
"We are very close to getting Muntari and I am keeping my fingers crossed.
"He is a fantastic midfielder, strong and quick and with an eye for goal and he is only 22.
"Mark will make up his own mind. He has plenty of offers but we are looking to improve all around. We will need more goals and we have the money available to spend.
"You have to have competition for places and a big squad. The Premier League is going to be tougher than ever next season and if you stand still, you end up going backwards."
