Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp was pleased with the way his much-changed side played in the 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.
The Pompey boss was forced to make six changes to his side but they looked set to hold on for a goalless draw until two late goals handed the three points to the home side.
"For 80 minutes we were right in there and I felt we'd taken the best that Tottenham could throw at us," said Redknapp.
"I was thinking it was going to be a great point for us after making six enforced changes. But we defended poorly and got punished.
"Tottenham is not an easy place to go to after making changes like that, and I thought we were fantastic. The lads who came in did a good job and worked hard.
"I was going to play Tony Adams, he could still do it - he wouldn't let you down. Our priority is the FA Cup. We have to try to beat West Brom and reach the Final.
"It would have been nice to have taken a point but they have some good players. We are sixth and they are 11th and that shows you how well we have done."
