Harry eyes Defoe reunion

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his strikeforce by capturing England international Jermain Defoe from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The 24-year-old has spent most of this season on the substitute's bench because of the form of Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov and has started only three Premiership games in the last three months.

Redknapp has already stated his intention to strengthen the Pompey squad in the summer and would welcome the chance to work with Defoe again after previously being together at West Ham United.

"Defoe is a top player and will always score you goals," Redknapp told the Daily Star.

"I had him at West Ham and he was a great kid. I'd love to have him here.

"I'm looking to bring in up to six players. We've not scored enough goals."
