GW: Confidence getting better

17 December 2012 15:02
Portsmouth caretaker manager Guy Whittingham feels confidence in the squad is improving.

Pompey are back in the relegation zone having failed to win any of their last 10 matches, but they have managed three consecutive draws following a miserable run of seven straight defeats. They now have a great chance to pick up an elusive win to set them up for Christmas when they head to bottom-of-the-table Hartlepool next weekend. Whittingham said:

"We know we're in a fight and will scrap for every point we can get.

"It's a crucial period for us. The matches come thick and fast and we have to collect a decent amount of points from these upcoming games.

"But anybody who comes to the training ground can see that the atmosphere around the place is positive."
