Grant hopes ban is lifted

Portsmouth boss Avram Grant claims he is primed and ready to bolster his squad when he is finally given permission to do so.

Grant is hoping to retain on-loan Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara despite the ailing club being under a transfer embargo.

If the ban on signing any new players is lifted before the end of the transfer window, the Israeli boss then has his sights on strengthening his rock-bottom squad.

Referring to O'Hara, he said: "I have spoken to (Spurs boss) Harry (Redknapp) and he says it will be okay. "I had a plan for Jan 1, now they tell me it is Jan 10. I am ready, just say to me.

'Yes' and I can bring in the players we need and I'm sure the team will be better.
