Grant vows to keep fighting

Portsmouth boss Avram Grant insists he will do everything to keep the club alive on the pitch after they were given a stay of execution in the High Court. Pompey are rooted to the bottom of the Barclays Premier League but secured a last-gasp draw with Sunderland on Tuesday evening while their future was still uncertain due to their dispute with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. They have been granted seven days to produce a statement of affairs to HMRC to detail their exact financial position before the matter is heard before a judge. Grant has contended with a transfer embargo this season but said: "I stayed because I love this club and sometimes you don't just think about yourself. When I see the players, the fans and the city, I have to be in the effort to keep this club alive. What I can do, I do it on the pitch. "We have to respect what the players are doing on the pitch - continuing. We never gave up and we won't start now."
