Fulham closing in on deal to sign Portsmouth's top target Viduka

Fulham are closing in on a dealto sign Mark Viduka after theveteran striker flew into London fortalks on Wednesday night. A proposed move totake the 33-year-old free agent to Portsmouth appears to havecollapsed, with Sulaiman Al-Fahim'stakeover yet to go through and PaulHart consequently only able to signplayers on loan deals. Craven Cottage boss Roy Hodgson knows his squad will be stretched this season, particularly with their involvement in the Europa League, and is eager to add numbers to the ranks. Viduka left relegated Newcastle at the end of last season.
