Free agent Tosic left in limbo as FA thwart Swansea's move to sign Serb

Stuck in the middle: Dusko Tosic Swansea's efforts to sign Serbia international defender Dusko Tosic have been blocked again after the FA refused to give special dispensation for an emergency loan move. The Premier League side have also made an offer for Tosic, 25. The Portsmouth defender was signed outside the January window as a freeagent to play in the FA Cup against Southampton, but the Premier Leaguedecreed that Pompey could not register any more players due totheir financial situation - so withheld his registration to play inleague games. The player is seeking legal advice to resolve the issue.
