Finland wonderkid Sparv looking forward to Saints reunion

Two years living and working with Theo Walcott taught Tim Sparv two things: Don't leave him one-on-one with the full-back and don't give him the remote control. Finland's U21 captain Sparv knows England pair Walcott and Martin Cranie from their time together at Southampton's Academy when the trio lived together in an old hotel, renovated to house the club's scholars. 'I know them both well,' said 22-year-old Sparv as he prepared for a reunion in the opening game of the European U21 Championships. 'You could always tell Theo was special with his pace and technique but I've watched him a lot in the Champions League and the Premier League and I'm amazed how well he has done. 'As a housemate, he might have watched a bit too much EastEnders for my liking but he was quite tidy. 'He was always down to earth, despite his success. That's what makes him a good friend.' They were all involved in the Southampton team beaten by Ipswich in the 2005 Youth Cup final but Walcott joined Arsenal in January 2006.
