Ex-United striker Webber completes free transfer switch to Portsmouth

Pompey bound: Webber[LNB]Portsmouth have completed the signing of former Manchester United striker Danny Webber on a free transfer.[LNB]Webber was released by Sheffield United at the end of last season and has been courted by a number of Championship sides.[LNB]Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and Swansea City have all held talks with the 27-year-old free agent.[LNB]But Webber has secured a move to the Barclays Premier League after Paul Hart offered the forward a two-year-deal at Fratton Park.[LNB]The striker will help fill the void left by David Nugent - who is on loan at  Burnley, as Pompey look to improve after their poor start to the season.[LNB] [LNB]Meanwhile Pompey's new owner Sulaiman Al Fahim has reassured Hart his job is safe despite starting the season with four defeats in a row.
