Crisis club Portsmouth have unveiled another new signing despite their financial meltdown.

The Serbian defender joins Pompey in their desperate bid to avoid relegation at the end of a nightmare season.

Tosic, 25, was awarded a work permit on Thursday and could go straight into the side to face arch rivals Southampton on Saturday.

Waiting game: Portsmouth were at the High Court this week

Portsmouth are fighting to avoid going bust after being handed a brief reprieve by the High Court on Wednesday. HM Revenue & Customs are claiming £12.1million in unpaid VAT, PAYE and National Insurance amid claims the club are trading while insolvent.

They have been ordered to submit to the court a Statement of Affairs - a financial breakdown of the company - by Wednesday and will have their case re-heard during the following week.
