Diop delighted with AEK switch

Senegal midfielder Papa Bouba Diop has expressed his satisfaction after completing his move to AEK Athens from Portsmouth.[LNB] Bouba Diop had been expected to leave Fratton Park following Pompey's relegation from the Premier League and the club's financial situation.[LNB]Portsmouth had been hoping to secure a £820,000 fee for the 32-year-old, but the exact price has not been disclosed.[LNB]Diop has signed a two-year contract with AEK and is looking forward to the prospect of playing in Greek football.[LNB]"I am satisfied with the outcome of my transfer," said Diop. "I was surprised by the fans who turned out to greet me at the airport.[LNB]"I have seen AEK play in European matches and was impressed."[LNB]The powerful midfielder joined Pompey from Fulham in 2007 and made 72 appearances during his time with the South Coast club.
