Depressed Distin fears drop

Sylvain Distin has warned that Portsmouth will be relegated this season if they continue to produce performances like that in the recent defeat at Fulham.

Pompey are only one point above the bottom three after an eight-match winless streak and produced one of their worst defensive displays of the season in the 3-1 loss at Craven Cottage.

Former Manchester City star Distin said: "It's a tough end of the season for us, but if we play like we are at the moment any team is going to be tough.

"There's disappointment there. We did so well last season and now everything is the opposite. It's not enjoyable. I don't know why I shouldn't say this. They are the facts.

"I'm not pessimistic. I'm just saying how I feel. There's disappointment and frustration. It's going to be a very difficult end to the season.

"The players have to see what is happening as a sign to wake up. Everyone is down at the moment.

"Some games we have done well and not got the result. But we can't say that about the Fulham game. We have enough to stay up, but we have to do more."
