Davis upset at Pompey stance
20 Feb 2009 - 15:35:06
Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis has vowed to give his all for the club in the coming months, despite having not been offered a new contract at Fratton Park.
The 29-year-old's current deal runs out at the end of the season and Davis is upset that negotiations have not started over his future on the South Coast.
He commented: "I was left out of the FA Cup final squad last year and then Celtic came in for me in the summer.
"I heard the club had accepted a £3million bid and it seemed they were trying to get rid of me then, but I didn't want to leave the Premier League - or Portsmouth - and nothing more developed on that.
"I got back into the side and when I heard they had turned down a £3million offer from Bolton in the January window, I thought they would soon be knocking on my door offering me a new contract.
"However, there have been no more talks and nothing is signed.
"I guess now everything is going to get sorted out in the summer, but I want to stay here no matter what division we are in."
