Crouch loving Pompey life

England striker Peter Crouch insists he has no intention of leaving Portsmouth after he was linked with a shock transfer to Tottenham.

There had been a suggestion that the former Aston Villa and Liverpool star wanted to be reunited with current Spurs boss Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane.

Jermain Defoe has already made the switch from Fratton Park to north London but Crouch is not about to follow suit.

He told The News: "I feel connected with the club and I've felt disappointed with recent results.

"I didn't expect a lot of things that have gone on this season, but you just get on with it and I'm perfectly settled here. I love playing for Portsmouth.

"I love living here. I'm perfectly happy here. As long as we improve the rest of this season and next season, I can see my future here for a long, long time."

The 28-year-old has found the net 32 times in 75 appearances for Pompey following his switch from Liverpool in the summer of 2008.
