Crouch exit talk intensifies
10 Jul 2009 - 11:37:44
Peter Crouch appears to have played his last game for Portsmouth after the England international's agent accepted that the striker was likely to leave Fratton Park this summer.
Crouch was a regular starter for Pompey last season following his £9million switch from Liverpool, scoring 16 goals as the club avoided relegation to the Championship.
AC Milan, Sunderland, Blackburn, Spurs and Fulham have all been linked with the 28-year-old recently and Crouch's agent, Jonathan Barnett, accepts that his client could be sold before the transfer window closes at the end of next month.
He said: "I think Portsmouth have financial problems. I think every player is available.
"You'd have to speak to Portsmouth to see if they're willing to sell Peter. He doesn't feel he's been let down, though. He has a great relationship with Portsmouth.
"We haven't heard anything from Milan or anyone at this stage. He's a Portsmouth player, he likes the club and thinks a lot of Peter Storrie and Paul Hart.
"He's happy, but if there are circumstances where he has to move, that's football I'm afraid.
"He's still on holiday at the moment and has been given a few more days off by the club because he's been playing for England.
"There's nothing untoward about that, though. All the England team are allowed a bit longer off. If Portsmouth were to receive an offer from somebody then we'd have to listen to it."
