Crouch targets Pompey lift

Striker Peter Crouch is eager to be part of the exciting times which could be on the horizon for Portsmouth. Property billionaire Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim is expected to take charge of the Fratton Park outfit and has already outlined his ambitious plans. Crouch has seen vast sums invested by new owners at both Chelsea and Manchester City, with Roman Abramovich bankrolling the Stamford Bridge side to every domestic honour in the game. City have made a host of big-money signings without any tangible success to date, but are expected to mount a more sustained challenge next term. And England international Crouch believes that Pompey, who spent much of the season fighting relegation, can only benefit from a change at the top of the club's hierarchy. Ambition "You see the changes at Manchester City and Chelsea some time ago and they benefited those clubs," Crouch said. "Hopefully our club can go the same way. "You hear that he has a lot of money and a great deal of ambition so hopefully he can push the club forward. I think that is what we need. "Things are changing at Portsmouth every day and it's exciting. I am looking forward to being a part of that."
